At which universities can I get a semester ticket?
If you are studying at one of the following universities, you can buy a semester ticket:
- Albert-Ludwigs-Universität
- Evangelische Hochschule
- Hochschule für Musik
- Internationale Studien- und Berufsakademie ISBA – Study location Freiburg
- Katholische Hochschule
- Pädagogische Hochschule
Why is the semester ticket so cheap?
The semester ticket is so inexpensive because all students co-finance it with their semester contribution.
What else do I need to know? What do I need for an inspection?
Use of 1st class on DB trains is not possible. Night transport on light rail services is included. An additional ticket is required forthe night services of the VAG (in German) and SBG and AST to the Freiburg region. Alternatively, students from other universities can travel cheaply with the Regiokarte Schüler or the Deutschland-Ticket JugendBW (in German).

What advantages and discounts do I have with the semester ticket?
The RVF has cooperation partners in the field of sustainable mobility, such as the Frelo bike hire system and the Grüne Flotte car sharing service.
Can I travel cheaper without a semester ticket?
On presentation of a valid student ID from one of the above-mentioned universities, you can use public transport in the RVF free of charge from 7 p.m. and all day on Sundays and public holidays – even without a semester ticket. For students of the university and the PH, it is even easier with the 7 p.m. proof available online. Here too, however, you will need an official photo ID at the ticket inspection.
